How FFTI Empowers Members through SEO Workshop

Forum Fair Trade Indonesia (FFTI) is an umbrella organization for fair trade organizations in Indonesia, which aims to support and empower its members in the field of fair trade.

One of the ways FFTI does this is by organizing capacity building initiatives, such as training programs and workshops, to enhance the skills and knowledge of its members.

Recently, FFTI conducted a workshop on search engine optimization (SEO) for 12 members in Yogyakarta. SEO is the practice of optimizing a website or a web page to rank higher on search engines, such as Google, Bing, or Yahoo. SEO is important for online businesses, as it can increase the visibility, traffic, and conversion of their websites.

What the Workshop Covered

The SEO workshop aimed to equip members with skills to optimize their websites and content. The workshop was held on October 12, 2021, at the FFTI office in Yogyakarta. The workshop covered the following topics:

• The basics of SEO and how it works
• The benefits of SEO for fair trade businesses
• The key elements of a SEO friendly website, such as title, keywords, content, structure, and meta tags
• The best practices and tips for on-page optimization, such as using headings, subheadings, bullet points, images, links, and call to action
• The tools and resources for keyword research, competitor analysis, and performance measurement
• The strategies and techniques for off-page optimization, such as link building, social media marketing, and online reputation management

The workshop was interactive and hands-on, as the participants were given exercises and assignments to apply what they learned. The participants also had the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences and challenges in optimizing their websites.

What the Participants Learned

By the end of the productive training session, members developed plans to implement SEO on their organization’s website. They learned actionable tips to boost their website’s search visibility through optimized content and technical improvements. They also gained access to additional online resources for members to continue enhancing their skills.
