The success of rice self-sufficiency in the 80′s decade of his life did not raise the welfare and dignity of farmers. The fate of small farmers who have land, those who have no land and farm workers as if no move, even worse than the previous condition. Although optimizing the various capabilities and potential of local (by making crafts intime between farming) they were not yet worthy of life.
Being a crafter or moonlighted as a crafter might give a little extra income. But the truth can not break the chains of poverty they experience. The same fate wasexperienced by small craftsmen in urban areas.
The small artisans wrapped by a variety of internal problems. They are weak in terms of entrepreneurship, markets and marketing, product and production management,to the capital. From the outside they confronted a variety of policies that do not berfihak on them, an unhealthy business climate, capital strength that weakens theirbargaining position, to the monetary turmoil affecting the fluctuation of prices.
The situation above can be traced to originate in the national development strategy and management of the state. In fact the gap widening and weaken the chances ofsmall businesses, including in the crafts sector to flourish. This is what melatar-backs APIKRI born in 1987.
